What do you enjoy most about watching children?
I enjoy watching children grow. I love seeing all of the developmental milestones. I love when a baby is crawing and you hear the pitter patter of their hands against the floor. I love when you can finally understand what they are saying to you and you begin having conversations. I love when they blossom into their own. I consider it an honor and a priviledge to work with children. I respect them where they are in their development and enjoy them for who they are.

What do you enjoy most about watching children?
I enjoy watching the reactions older children show, when you have just figured out their favorite game and start playing it with them...(Harry Potter LEGO on WII). I like showing support for their projects, whether a little one is building a pebble pile or an older kid is being super polite and they want you to know about it. I am aware that some children are intimate and others are very outgoing, and I like to support the decisions they make and help them feel like their decision is worthwhile by sharing my own stories.

What do you enjoy most about watching children?
I enjoy TONS of things about watching children - I love watching kids play together, using their imaginations, building things, creating their own little world. Watching kids also gives me a good opportunity to learn how they interact with each other - where they are developmentally, how great their communication skills are (I am almost always blown away by this!), and allowing kids to learn to work out differences themselves. And let's not forget my favorite - laughter! Kids are the best at getting folks to laugh!

What do you enjoy most about watching children?
Mostly laughing. I laugh all the time with kids now the same way I did with my daughter and her friends when they were all growing up. I love reading stories to them, being outside, playing with fun toys, playing dress ups and going into make-believe story worlds. I love going outside with children to their yard or to parks where we can explore things along the way; that's when I find it easiest to teach them about what is around us, i.e. I have several children who like pretty rocks and we identify them together.

What do you enjoy most about watching children?
My strong point is with newborns to toddlers, I just love that warm feeling they give you when they look up to you for love and comfort. Teaching a pre-K class is a lot of fun too, they look up to you for direction and creactivity, I like to get down and messy when learning something new, being silly with them and hearing them laugh is a plus but firm on the rules at the same time. Their sense of wonder makes me happy.

I like the one-on-one connection you get with the child(ren) and that bond that you form that is just unattainable in a classroom environment. There is no "fooling" a child into loving you. Children are innocent and new to the world, so they take everything about you at face value and the relationship that you form with them is one built on trust, love, and their direct interaction with you. I love working with children because you know if you have gained a child's trust and love, it is because you were a good person to them.
